Peter Manka Jr. shows in this video how to get the perfect fit for your wedding band in just 60 seconds.
What Is The Perfect Fit?
Obvious to some, a complete mystery to others, knowing exactly how a ring should fit is more simple than many people might assume.
Put in very basic and succinct terms your ring should easily slide onto your ring finger, and should be able to be removed with ease; however, it must meet some resistance at the knuckle.
Too loose and the ring will simply slip off, too tight and it can cut off circulation to the rest of your finger, causing great discomfort and discoloration.
Trust us, you don’t want that.
One Ring, Many Factors
While it would be nice to live in a world of perfect weather, all the time, it is simply not possible on this big blue beautiful planet we call Earth.
Consequently, varying weather conditions can wreak havoc on determining the correct ring size.
The best way to counteract this is by sizing your ring on a specific, predetermined day.
Don’t do your measuring after a rigorous workout or the morning after you’ve eaten a particularly salty meal.
This way you’ll discover your authentic size that isn’t directly affected by bloating or swelling.
Always ensure that your hand has come to room temperature before measuring.
Variance due to colder or warmer weather is inevitable, but knowing what size is suitable and comfortable the majority of the time is your quick ticket to satisfaction.
Choose Your Width
Whether you’re a fan of the slim look or are someone who likes to take a walk on the wide size, the width of your wedding band determines the appropriate size.
What is correct for a thinner option, may be completely incorrect for a wider ring. Remember, the wider the ring, the tighter the fit!

Another important factor to take into consideration is the actual size of your hands and fingers, and how they will be impacted aesthetically by the width of your ring.
If you have shorter fingers, then a wider ring will make your finger appear shorter. Counteract this with a thinner ring.
Vice versa if you have longer fingers.
Undoubtedly, you will want to wear your wedding ring for many years to come. Life is full of bumps and knocks and your ring may come off worse for wear as a result.
Thicker rings, by default, will be made using more metal and consequently will be more durable and less susceptible to warping, twisting and being bent out of shape.
In saying that, thinner rings are still durable. They are made out of metal after all. But, they are at a greater risk of damage, especially if the wearer plans to wear the ring daily and has very active hands.
