How did you two meet?
Mark and I met in 2014, through mutual friends, at Mark's going away party. In the few years that Mark was away, he would come back on occasion to visit friends. I always thought he was cute, had a great sense of humor and was just a good person. In January of 2017, Mark announced that he was moving back in San Diego, and upon his return in March, I asked him out for happy hour. He thought it was purely a friendly meet-up, but his friends set him straight, that this was more than just friends. He is one of the best men that I know, is my best friend, and the perfect person for me. I am one lucky gal.

My bucket list trip has always been to Italy. In the Fall of 2022, we booked a trip to March in 2023. After 5 days in Rome, we headed up to Tuscany, where Mark popped the question on a gorgeous hotel balcony, overlooking the mountains around us.

Describe the ring:
Gorgeous diamond solitaire ring, in white gold, with alternating sapphires and diamonds on the side. I had this ring designed with one of the jewelers at Ben Garelick.

What was the first thing you thought when you saw the ring in person?
I designed the ring myself and when Mark proposed, I was in awe of its beauty. I am still getting compliments.
